Paula Scher Life of Typography
Event Poster
Client: San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
Services: Poster and Flyer
Tools: Photoshop and Mixed Media
Background/Requirements: I made this poster when I was new to the graphic design world. In the process of making it, I had to choose a famous graphic designer that I knew, loved, and that inspired me. Honestly, I didn't know graphic designers could be famous. I just thought they were the superheroes behind the curtain. This project helped me get out of my own bubble and into the world of design.
I choose Paula Scher. Paula Scher is a graphic designer whose style is between pop culture and fine art and is instantly recognizable work. My design was inspired by here typography-based work such as book covers, posters, flyers, and campaigns.
Challenges: The hardest part of the poster design was making it your own but showing the graphic designer's style that you are representing. Also, I learned a lot about Typography through Paula Scher and which will help me in future projects that have typography.
Favorite Details: My favorite part was learning about other graphic designers and Paula Scher’s work and impact on the design world.
